Longi Sets New Record: 27.81% Photovoltaic Cell Conversion Efficiency.
April 15, 2025Longi, a global solar technology leader, has achieved a significant breakthrough in solar cell efficiency. On April 11, at its Wuhu base in Anhui, Longi announced that its independently developed Hybrid Interdigitated-Back-Contact (HIBC) crystalline silicon solar cells, certified by Germany's ISFH, reached a remarkable 27.81% photoelectric conversion efficiency.
This is not Longi's first record-breaking achievement. In November 2022, it set a world record at 26.81%. By May 2024, the efficiency climbed to 27.3%, followed by consecutive breakthroughs to reach the current 27.81%.
The HIBC cells, developed by Longi's Central Research Institute, innovatively restructure the cell and material system. This innovation brings dual improvements in optical management and carrier transport, paving the way for higher power density in photovoltaic modules.
